Our process is quite simple really, discover, develop and deliver. But let’s break that down even further so you have complete clarity of what you can expect with Emerald Building Services.
Discover
The first step of our process is an important one and will really set the foundations and pave the way for a smooth build. At this stage you will have some idea of what you are looking to achieve, whether it be extended up or out, or both. You don’t have to know exactly what you want and things may change, we can also help with recommendations from experience.
We will sit down together for a discovery session and use this time to understand your project and what you want to achieve. We will cover as much detail as possible, and open the drawing board to brainstorming ideas, questions and detailed conversations around your goals and the reasoning behind them.
Once we have gotten to know you, understand your project, the vision and goals, we will be able to provide you with a ballpark estimate figure. It is important to understand this number may fluctuate and is not a written quote, it is simply a rough guide of what you can expect. Once we have your approval, we can move onto stage two of the process.

Develop
We now move onto the in-depth planning stage. While a lot of the work is done behind the scenes, we are working towards matching your vision and goals for your exciting new project. We will meet for an initial engagement consultation and finalise some important project details, this includes pre construction planning, such as design, plans and approvals.
Once we have a better understanding of the project and how we will bring it to life, we can start to engage in the relevant trades and discuss the brief. With your permission, the trades may opt to visit your home to gain more insight into the job before submitting their quotes.
After our initial engagement consultation and all the relevant documentation has been provided, you will receive your detailed 10 – 30 page proposal. Here you will find a comprehensive schedule of works, including an overview of your purpose and outcomes, details of recommendations, an itemised list of specifications and inclusions, with cost breakdowns and extra allowances. We go into thorough detail to ensure complete clarity and eliminate the possibility of hidden costs arising throughout the project.
We will then sit down for a proposal consultation where we will run through a thorough explanation of all aspects so there is no confusion and we can progress to the final stage comfortably.
Deliver
Now comes the exciting part, sit back and watch your vision come to life. Once you have agreed on the proposal we can progress onto the construction stage. Our team of highly experienced and professional trades will commence works on the extension or renovation of your home. We will work in line with the provided drawings and ensure a smooth production line while you see the build take structure.
To ensure both the safety of our team and your family, we use only in-house trades and contractors we have a working relationship with. This also ensures we minimise time delays, issues on site and an understanding between the different trades and services.
The project completion is the final stop to our process road map and at this stage we truly hope you’ve enjoyed the ride and the outcome as we sign off on the job.
